The Lift’s exciting new season starts in September!

Glossop’s nationally recognised and respected live international music club The Lift is back in action at The Globe with its trademark eclectic programme of wonderful performers. Run entirely by volunteers from Glossop, The Lift will be celebrating its 15th anniversary next year. The season starts with a massive coup for the town, on Saturday September 24th with the legendary Neil Innes (of Monty Python, Bonzo Dog Doo Dah Band,The Rutles, Innes Book of Records fame). He will be performing a solo show of “Short Stories and Tall Songs”. Lift organiser and DJ Rick says “The term national treasure is so over used but in Neil’s case it is totally appropriate. His solo shows are a joy and are best summed up by a recent review, ‘A show that tickles the emotions with a potent mix of fine musicianship and enlightened lyricism, packed with sharp observations celebrating the absurdities of modern existence.’

Tickets for this show are priced at £12 and are limited so act now. They are available from the usual outlets at The Globe, Bay Tree Books and The Wild Carrot Buxton.
