thedreamscheme hits Glossopdale

Dreamscheme is a project that looks to get young people aged 8 – 19yrs involved in work-based activities that make a positive difference to the neighbourhoods that they live in. The time young people spend on the activities is rewarded with points which can be exchanged for various trips out that they themselves have chosen.

Following the success of Dreamscheme in Fairfield, Buxton back in October 2010, which now has over 60 young people actively involved in the project carrying out numerous community work based activities and being rewarded with trips out to Whitehall, Go Karting, the cinema and McDonalds, a 3-week pilot was carried out in Gamesley over the summer. High Peak Community Housing Community Partnership Team worked with High Peak Borough Council, Derbyshire Police, Gamesley Residents Association and the Gamesley Community to decide what work activities their community needed most. After a successful advertising campaign to raise awareness about the scheme work activities, including painting the centurion park, were carried out.
